Any player who is found to have a returned check or declined credit card will be contacted immediately by Polar Ice.
The player will not be allowed to skate until the bill is paid in full.
Polar Ice has a No Refund Policy except in the event of a season ending injury or relocation of the family out of Arizona.
Injury refund requests must be accompanied with a physician's note. All refund requests must be made in writing. The PYHL Director has up to 90 days from receipt of the request to decide on the refund and if allowing it, issue the refund. The decision is final. All refunds will be for in-house credit except in the instance of relocation.
USA Hockey Insurance
House league players are not required to pay USA Hockey Insurance; we use a separate insurance company (Murphy) that provides the same coverage as USA Hockey at a lower cost. However, if you played travel hockey in the fall and decide to play in the spring, you will need to pay both USA Hockey and the in-house insurance -- sorry, no exceptions.
Hockey Operations
In instances involving a Game Misconduct, Polar Ice Management will review the incident and inform the player or coach that they received a Game Misconduct and must sit the following game.
Polar Ice may also assess additional penalties for a Game Misconduct. For all incidents involving a Gross, Major or Match penalties, said player or coach is automatically suspended for 30 days or until a mandatory hearing by the Hockey Director and General Manager is held and a decision is made.
If circumstances prevent the committee from meeting within 30 days, the player or coach shall be suspended until the 30 days expires or a ruling is assessed.
Game Operations
All games will have a 3 minute warm up period.
Games will be played in three 12 minute periods.
There will be 1 minute between periods.
Each team will receive 1 time out per game.
Schedules will be posted online on your rink's website. Any schedule changes will be communicated through email.
If the score is even after 3 periods during the regular season, the score will be recorded as a tie.
House Player Evaluations
The PYHL staff and coaches conduct on-ice evaluations of all registered players.
Evaluations are performed to rate each player's hockey skills and playing ability. These ratings are used to assign players to House League teams to achieve balance throughout the divisions.
Siblings will be given priority to play on the same team; we cannot guarantee any other requests will be granted.
PYHL reserves the right to adjust rosters at any time during the season to achieve parity.
If a player would like to play in a higher division, they can attend evaluations for both their age group and one age level higher. They will be able to play in the higher age level if they are rated in the top 25% of the players evaluated.
Jerseys
Jerseys are expected to be received by the rink and to the team by the first regular season game. However, delays the rink cannot control with our supplier can push this date back further. Please make sure your child has a light and dark jersey for each practice and game, just in case.
Jerseys will be numbered 1-20 and will be handed out at the first practice.
Jersey numbers are at the sole discretion of the hockey director.
House Select Teams
There will be tryouts for house select teams in late 2010. These teams will play in local tournaments as well as on their house teams. Please note there will be an additional fee to play on the select team.
