Sonoran League Announces Affiliation with House Programs!
The Sonoran Youth Hockey League (SYHL) is pleased to announce that we will be working with our local House programs to provide all league-related services for a “House Select” program. The Select teams will be created by pooling the top house players within each of 4 divisions: Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam from the house programs at Polar Ice Chandler, Peoria, Gilbert, and the Ice Den. Every team will play a total of 6 Select games, one home and one away, against the other teams in their division. In addition the SYHL will host a Select Championship event in early April.
“The SYHL is pleased to be facilitating league play among all of the House Select teams in the Valley,” said Commissioner Bob Strong. “The house programs are the cornerstones of our state's youth hockey programs, and to be able to provide an added level of competition is very satisfying”.
Select games will begin in January and will run through March, and will include games over the Martin Luther King and Presidents Day holidays. Players interested in trying out for these teams should contact their local Youth Hockey directors at their home rink for details.
